Materials & Supplies List

Wax & Wicks

We use natural soy wax for most workshops due to its clean burn and ease of use. Paraffin and paraffin-soy blends are available for certain techniques. Cotton wicks are provided in a range of sizes to match vessel diameter. All materials are supplied during the class; you do not need to bring wax or wicks.

  • Soy container wax (natural)
  • Paraffin wax (for pillars and votives)
  • Cotton wicks, pre-tabbed (sizes 6–12)
  • Wick stickers and centering devices

Vessels & Molds

Glass jars, tin containers, and ceramic vessels are available for container candles. Metal and silicone molds are used for pillars and votives. Vessels vary by session; participants take home the candles they make. We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes in the studio.

  • Glass jars (8 oz and 4 oz)
  • Metal tins (6 oz)
  • Pillar molds (3" diameter)
  • Votive molds and sleeves

Fragrance & Color

We stock a selection of fragrance oils suitable for candle use, including florals, woods, spices, and citrus. Liquid and chip colorants are available for custom shades. Fragrance load and color usage are covered in the curriculum to help you achieve consistent results at home.

  • Phthalate-free fragrance oils
  • Liquid candle dye (red, blue, yellow, black)
  • Dye chips for subtle tints
  • Mica (for decorative top coats only)

Tools & Equipment

Double boilers, thermometers, pouring pitchers, and stirring utensils are provided. Aprons and heat-resistant gloves are available. Participants are welcome to bring a notebook to record recipes and notes. Materials are included in the workshop fee. See our curriculum for level-specific materials.
